I love to walk and collect images of beautiful wild and cultivated flowers in my neighbourhood. Any walk with me will take twice as long if I take my camera, because I love to stop and snap beautiful little blooms. I wanted to share some of these little beauties with you, because the world is our garden!
All the different hues, shapes and sizes are so abundant at this time of year in New Zealand. It is not a country generally known for its flowers, as many of the native plants are ferns and non-flowering trees and shrubs. However, with the many introduced, naturalised and some native flowers, Spring time here is a beautiful blanket of greens, pinks, vibrant and soft florals everywhere.
Creator of Lotus Wei flower essences Katie Hess is releasing a book on the healing and abundant power of flowers. I absolutely adore flower essences, having used them for years in stressful times and of course hydrosols like rosewater being a daily staple.. How could I not be intrigued? She describes herself as a flower alchemist, using flowers to help your mood and uplift your spirit. It must be so beautiful to work with such gentle and magical blossoms on a daily basis!
Flowers have the power to impact our mood and calm a frazzled mind. So for my input, I am sharing images of some of the bountiful plants that I call my neighbours…
Which flowers are your favourite? Mine are marigolds, even though I don’t have a photo here to show you! Enjoy the visual feast! 🙂
